Dating, Dogs, and Digging it!

I was on a first date last night. It went very well. I met this guy last weekend at The Gossip concert at the Showbox.

We did the whole look over at each other, then look away, then look back, for about 15 minutes while some of the worlds worst warm-up bands played (champagne, champagne! UGH). I looked away one time and then next thing I know I have this smiling bearded guy right up next to me and say, “Hi my name is Tom, what’s yours”. WOW I think to myself, he is talking to me – that seemed so easy for him. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t but I am glad he had the balls to come up to me.

We got a beer and started to talk. “So what do you do”, “Where do you live”, “Are you a creep”. Ok that last one was not asked it was just assumed on both sides that we were checking to see. Cute smiles, cute smiles, in for the kiss. Sweet! a good kisser. PDAs were common place all night long.

He had never heard The Gossip before and he really liked the show. It was really cool to hang with someone who seemed normal, was hot, and seemed to dig me.

The concert ended and in the best, most innocent face he asked “do you eat dinner”. Slight chuckle later and the first date was planned.

Last night Dixon the dog was walked, I had Indian food with him. I loved it. I have never loved Indian food. Conversation was good. The dessert was the kissing. The date was great. Can’t wait for the next one.

Interesting

Ok.. So how do you find a date? How do you find someone you want to spend time with?

This is the question that roams through my head these days. I met people and I think that I would want to get to know them better. Some I think, “I WANT to get to know them”. For those that know me would be surprised that I clam up about now. I think, “kiss him before you say good night”. Then I give him a peck instead of a kiss.

I get in the car and wonder what the hell happened. Then on the drive home I kill myself thinking back and forth. Well what would happen if you went in for the kiss and he didn’t want it. WOW then I think… POOF… friend gone. I really think friends are more important than not right now, but a guy needs to make out too… WOW I over think shit.

Tonight I went for a walk all around Bremerton and then when I came back with my Starbucks Ice Tea (no sugar, no added water). I did not want to watch TV at all, so Facebook’ed, Bear411′ed, and YouTube’ed friends and people I am fond of (oh and my trusty Zune – right now I have a Bonnie Raitt mix on).

I did not know that my Yahoo Messenger was on and some guy from “Tacoma” (turned out to be Puyallup) started to ask my how I was. UGH… I have not really done the chatting thing so far. I have signed up for all of the chatting crap, but not really “participated” (insert the OMG Rick Wise blog moment here – love you Rick) yet in the online thing until last night – that is a different story.

So this guy started with “hi”.. The universal gay mating call. I did an out loud, Homer, DUH!… and I thought what the hell. I answered back. That started the conversation that went for hours (here is the fast version) – Have we met – nope – i think we have met on ‘xxxx’ website – nope never been there – how about ‘xxxx’ nope that that either – how about xxx (about this time I think he got it) – nope – have you ever seen my pic – yes a long time ago – well I am new to online so if it was a long time ago then… nope you have never seen me, maybe we met in Tacoma because I recently left there – nope – ok so we have never met ….. ok then many text back while I have facebook game “farkle” on one side and the chat on the other I realize I am not chatting with a crazy. He seems normal. Really!! When did normal people do this. OH WAIT, I am doing this too. I am normal too, aren’t I??? OK two hours later, Jack has to go to bed and so do I … But apparently I have to blog about it. I am finding this WAY to interesting. Why do I feel like a newly christened virgin? OK so there may be too many snickers out there. Shut up bitches!! Luvs

From my new apartment in downtown Bremerton, WA a quick walk in a two block radius. There are some really cool things down here.

First song is by “The Gossip” called “Dimestore Diamond” on the CD “Music for Men”. Seriously buy it! The CD is great.

The second song is called “Moving to Bremerton” by local band made big “MXPX”

House, Photo Booth, House

WOW what a weekend!!!

We sold out house this weekend.  Full asking price and three offers.  We were all shocked.  What did we do to celebrate?  We went out for a few cocktails with friends.  We ended out at The Mix in downtown.  It was Scott, Donovan, Daniel, Johnny, David, and several others.  Before we left Scott and I found out selves in the photo booth…  I didn’t know they made these things anymore.  VERY cool.  We were in there and Scott said we need to move around!!!  That was after the first two pictures were taken.

Too Fun!!  Love our friends.

That was last night.  Today I went to Ikea.  TOTALLY the wrong day to do that.  Memorial Day is not a happy day at that store especially when they are giving out free breakfast.  I survived the 10 minutes before opening.   There were TONS of people.  All I have to say is COME-ON it is just Ikea.  What the F.   Why so many people?   Very odd.  They all packed themselves in at the door like cattle waiting for slaughter.  I went outside and waited for them to all be safely in the store for about 10 minutes.

After I went to Peggi and Franks and had lunch with my second Mom.  Love her.  Lots of changes going on there.  Hope that all happy dreams come true.

Ok.. So then it was off to Bremerton where I looked at 6 houses with Tom and Amanda (the gal that listed our house)….   BIG news.. Sold one house one day and made an offer on the next day on a new house.  It is a cheap little house.  Smaller than the Tacoma house (by a little).  It was listed at $105,000 and was a bank repo.  I found out that there was other offers on it and they were all under the list price.  I offered the list price, no inspection, and I will pay all the closing costs.

Scary..  This house has been on the market for over 800 days.  That means nothing has been run for over 800 days.  Yep… It is a gamble.  I think it is an ok one.  Tom freaked out about that it was septic instead of sewer.  The past two inspections (one last month and one in 2003) had no issues, so I feel ok.  It has a NEW kitchen and NEW bathroom.  It needs carpet, there is none and needs just a little wall work around the place where the stack washer and dryer goes.

It really reminds me of the Tacoma house in that it was a diamond in the rough.  Should be interesting.  I hope they accept my offer.  Tomorrow will be busy.  I need to learn lots about septic tomorrow.  Fast!!  I have three days before the paper work will be here for me to sign.  If there is a problem then that is my last chance to get out..  Get out short of the $1000 I put down on earnest money
